Biomethane Development

Biomethane generates other marketable assets as well – namely environmental credits, an area where Element Markets is the industry leader. We understand the complex interplay between the biomethane and environmental credit markets and use our expertise to help our clients capitalize on premium renewable natural gas markets and optimally achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) compliance.

Element Markets operates the largest co-digestion facility in North America through its subsidiary EM Biogas. The Huckabay Ridge Anaerobic Digestion Facility uses manure and other organic waste streams to produce biomethane and fertilizer. We are also working with the largest waste companies in the U.S. to build several landfill projects that will turn methane into biomethane to be used for power and transportation fuels. Since the methane will no longer be vented into the air, these projects will be credited with millions of tonnes of greenhouse gas reductions.
